Tonight is the series finale for Battlestar Gallactica, for which I am TOTALLY stoked! But I will be sad to see the show go. It's funny (and a bit sad) how tv becomes a part of our lives. Almost like the characters of shows we watch become personal friends. I think it's more the heart pounding rthymn of the show that I am going miss. Every episode moves so quickly. It feels like 3 times as much happens in an ep of BSG in comparison to most shows... much like 24, from what I am told. LOL
Ok, enough about those shallow issues. We have life to discuss, right? LOL
Shawn and I celebrated our 5 year anniversary last weekend. We had a wonderful time. We went to Springfield and went to a lot of the Land-O-Lincoln sites. We got to tour the old courthouse with 53 junior high students!!! Wow, did that ever make me feel old... :( Oh well.
I did pretty well eating the first day. Good choices. Good portions. The 2nd was a different story, however. We ate at the Olive Garden for dinner and I ate pretty much what I wanted. I did, however, only eat 1/2 of the entree portion. (Is what they bring you really what America considers a healthy portion size these days??! Good grief!)
The 3rd day we ate at a pub with a good friend of mine in Springfield. I did fairly well there. Had a chicken sandwhich and only ate 1/2 the kettle chips that accompnied it.
We also walked TONS while there. Shawn was so proud of me that I walked everywhere with him instead of wanting to drive, as the old me would have done. :) And, I did get up and use the eliptical trainer in the hotel work-out room as well. And we did a bit of swimming. So, I did get a lot of activity.
However, all things considered, I was expecting the worst. I wasn't able to attend meeting Monday evening but I weighed myself on my Wii Fit (which so far has been pretty even keel with the WW scale) and it said I was down 0.9 lbs! I was so excited. Since then, during this week, it has said that I am down another 2.5 lbs. We'll see about that. I am skeptical. LOL
Anyway, things seem to be going well. I have been pushing myself pretty hard in my workouts. And I feel fantastic! More later...
Jen
